How can students find their dream job?

There are many ways in which students find jobs. Some students find jobs through their college campus recruitment centre. Some students find jobs through online job posting web sites. Some students find jobs through people that they or their parents and relatives know.

Any of these ways does not guarantee that the student finds their dream job. Finding the dream job requires is not easy. It requires the student to do a some work.

--- Prepare a good resume that catches the attention of the recruiters
--- Find someone to provide feedback on the resume
--- Be aware of the types of jobs that are available
--- Be connected to people that they know, whether they are recruiters, friends or relatives, who can help direct them to the right opportunity

TOP 10 TIPS TO CRACK A CAMPUS INTERVIEW

Campus interviews are the most important part of a student's life. As soon as the graduation time nears you, your focus is shifted to the interview preparation  as much it is on the final exams. Your chances of success at the interview, determines your career whereby getting a good break at campus eases the way ahead. Below is a list of top 10 tips to note, while preparing for your campus interview:


1.      Probe the nature of the campus interviewIt may not be possible for you to find out the exact reason of the interview. Whether the recruiters are looking out for a suitable candidate for their open positions or are merely fishing for good resumes. But once you are inside the interview, you can ask the interviewers if they have some specific vacancies that they are recruiting for. Thereafter you can accordingly decide on the level of efforts to put in there.

2.      Research the company: It's advisable to know the company well before appearing for its interview. Being aware of the latest news and developments related to the company, you can easily ace the interviewer's interest.

3.      Use the career fair platforms: Apart from attending your own college's career/job fair programs and seminars, do attend these at other colleges' as well. Thereby you may earn a chance of interacting with the companies that have not turned up in your college and thus get yourself some more opportunities.

4.      Prepare a 5 minute short summary of your project/internship: Your project and internship showcases your skills and exposure that you had. But in the course of interview you can not describe it all, so it's better to make a brief list of the major points you would like to highlight.

5.      Be prepared for GD and PI: In campus interviews, companies basically take a first round of Group Discussion, to spot the initiators with leadership skills. Having screened from there, Personal Interviews are taken to more precisely evaluate the candidate's skills. So you will have to prepare well for both separately.

6.      Prepare for the behavioral questions: Behavioral questions mostly are open ended and they are meant to know your experience and application related competencies. These questions intend to put forth your real self. Such questions could be like "Tell us about how did you use to handle your exam pressure", or how did you manage to do this project while attending full day college".

7.      Wear formal attire: Interview is a highly professional interaction and do follow the etiquette. Wear a formal matching the requirement of the situation, even if the company has an informal dress code for its employees.

8.      Admit mistakes or if you don't know the answer to a question: Instead of giving wrong answers and making a bad impression, admit that you don't know the answer or accept your mistake. Be honest and you will be appreciated.

9.      Be confident and enthusiastic: Be energetic and enthusiastic once you are inside the interview room, and don't let you anxieties and nervousness be seen. Remember you are being observed, so be relaxed, calm and confident.

10.  Don't loose courage easily: Don't loose you courage and heart soon, even if the interview is taking too long and there is no job offer yet rolled out. Because if you will start doubting your potential, your nervousness could overpower your best qualities and you may lose, though you are eligible.
